Product overview

Mouth mirror handles: patterns and thread compatibility.

A mouth mirror handle holds a screw-in mirror head, so the head can be replaced when the glass is worn or scratched without replacing the whole instrument. The handle is used for indirect vision, light reflection and gentle retraction during examination and treatment.

Two patterns are common. A cone socket handle takes cone socket heads, while a simple stem handle takes simple stem heads, so the two types are not interchangeable. Handles can be solid or hollow, with a plain, hexagonal or ribbed grip, depending on the catalogue. Heads and handles are best specified together; see the mouth mirror head page.

Buyer FAQ

Mouth Mirror Handle: questions buyers ask.

What is a mouth mirror handle?

It is the handle that carries a screw-in dental mirror head, so the head can be changed without replacing the handle.

What is the difference between cone socket and simple stem handles?

They use different head fittings. Cone socket handles take cone socket heads and simple stem handles take simple stem heads, so the two are not interchangeable.

Will the handle fit my mirror heads?

Only if the thread and head type match. Send a head or the thread details so the handle can be matched.

Are hollow handles available?

Solid and hollow constructions can be supplied. Confirm your preference when you enquire.

Are the handles reusable?

Stainless steel handles are intended for repeated use, with cleaning and sterilisation following the user's validated procedure.

Do you supply bulk and private-label orders?

Yes. Marking and packaging can be agreed for private-label programmes. Handles can also be quoted together with mirror heads.
