What is a rubber dam frame used for?
It holds the rubber dam sheet taut and lifts it away from the patient's face, so the isolated tooth stays dry and easy to see.
Frames that hold the rubber dam sheet taut and clear of the patient's face during isolation. Supplied in metal and plastic patterns, adult and child sizes, with specification, marking and packaging agreed against your sample.

A rubber dam frame keeps the dam sheet stretched and lifted off the face once it is on the tooth, so the operating field stays dry and visible. The sheet is held at its edges by small pins or posts around the frame. Frames are used wherever a dam is placed, most often in endodontic and restorative work.
The two common forms are the U-shaped metal frame, usually called a Young-type frame, and the plastic frame, often called Ostby-type, which does not show on radiographs. Metal is the usual choice for repeated reprocessing, while plastic is chosen when an image has to be taken with the dam in place. Dimensions differ between adult and child frames, so we work from your reference piece or drawing.
Confirmed against your approved drawing or sample before production.

The frame keeps the dam clear of the face and the operating field visible during canal work.
Used for moisture control when placing bonded or adhesive restorations.
Smaller frames suit children's mouths where a full-size frame would be in the way.
