Product overview

Upper root extraction forceps: what to specify.

When the crown is gone or badly broken down, a standard extraction forceps cannot hold the tooth. Root forceps have narrow beaks that reach below the gum line and grip what remains of the root. The upper version is made with the handle form used for the upper arch.

Pattern numbers differ between American and English catalogues, and beak width and length vary, so we quote from your drawing, sample or catalogue reference. This pattern is also supplied inside the adult extraction forceps set, and the dental extraction forceps page shows how it sits among the other patterns.

What to confirm

Include these points in an enquiry or sample approval request:

  • Pattern number or reference piece
  • American or English system
  • Beak width
  • Overall length
  • Material and finish
  • Quantity and packaging
If you already use a pattern you like, send it. Beak width and length are easier to match from a real piece than from a catalogue name.

Buyer FAQ

Upper Root Extraction Forceps: questions buyers ask.

What are upper root extraction forceps used for?

They grip retained roots and badly broken-down crowns in the upper jaw, where a standard forceps cannot hold the tooth.

How do they differ from universal forceps?

Root forceps have narrow beaks made to reach below the gum line and hold a root. Universal forceps are made to grip intact crowns.

Are American and English patterns available?

Yes. The pattern is confirmed from your reference, because numbering differs between the two systems.

Can I order them with the lower root pattern?

Yes. Upper and Lower root forceps can be quoted together or as part of a set.

Are they reusable?

Stainless steel extraction forceps are intended for repeated use, with cleaning and sterilisation following the user's validated procedure.

Do you supply bulk and private-label orders?

Yes. Marking and packaging can be agreed per programme, and quantities are quoted per programme.

Need a quotation for upper root extraction forceps?

Send the specification, quantities and packaging requirements. A drawing, photograph or reference piece will speed things up.
